What Are the Stages of Porcelain Dental Veneer Treatment?

First Stage

This is an appointment made at Yalova Dental Park, which is 45 minutes away from Istanbul Airport, for your teeth and gums to be evaluated by your dentist.

During this appointment, intraoral and extraoral photos of the patient are taken for digital smile design. Also during this appointment, impressions are taken with a digital intraoral scanner before starting the procedure.

Our patients can send us their intraoral photos and X-ray images via WhatsApp before coming to Turkey for dental treatment. This way, the treatment process can be accelerated.

The patient’s expectations regarding their teeth and the desired changes are determined. Then, temporary laminates are prepared for our patient using digital smile design programs based on the impressions and photos.

Evaluations and measurements are made on the final form of the restoration.

Afterward, the final shapes of the teeth are decided using special design programs.

Second Stage

This is the process of abrading the front surface of the teeth. In this stage, depending on the condition of our patient’s teeth, the protective layer of the tooth (enamel) is abraded between 0.3 and 0.9 mm using special devices, without being completely removed. In some cases, no abrasion may be necessary.

Abrasion is performed after teeth whitening (bleaching). After the abrasion process, porcelain laminate veneer restorations are prepared transparently. This provides a more natural whiteness and aesthetic.

Intraoral impressions are taken with Yalova Dental Park’s digital dentistry equipment and a special digital scanner. More precise and accurate measurements are obtained compared to traditional methods.

Subsequently, the temporary porcelain dental veneers prepared in the first stage are applied to our patient. If our patient is satisfied with the result, the actual porcelain dental veneers are bonded to the patient.

Third Stage

This is the process of bonding the teeth, prepared with special equipment, after cleaning them from saliva and moisture.
After the bonding process, the materials used are cleaned. And the teeth are polished.
